Section 3 • THE ASSAM IRRIGATION WATER USERS ACT, 2004
Section 3(1)
3. (1) The District Collector may, by notification and in accordance with the rules made, under this Act in this behalf, delineate every command area under each of the irrigation system on a hydraulic basis except, the command area of the shallow tube wells installed outside the command area of the irrigation schemes, installed by the individual farmers or by the Pathar Parichalana Samities registered by the Department of Agriculture, which may be administratively viable and declare it to be a water users' area for the purpose of this Act.
