(1) The Government may assign to a Panchayat Samiti functions in relation to any
matters to which the executive authority of the Gov ernment extends or the
functions which have been assigned to State Governm ent by the Central
Government.
(2) The Government may, by notification, withdraw o r modify the functions
assigned under this section.
