(1) No person shall, except in accordance with the provisions of this Act and the rules and bye-laws made thereunder :-\n(i) Use any place in the market area for the marketing of notified horticultural produce and\n(ii) Operate in the market area as a market functionaries.\n(2) Nothing in sub-section (1) shall apply to the following sale or purchase of such horticultural produce :-\n(i) Where the sale is made by the producer himself to any person for his/her domestic consumption in the quantity up to prescribed limit;\n(ii) Purchase or sale of which is made by a petty trader as may be prescribed;",
