Preamble.—Whereas it is expedient to provide by law to the State Government of Assam special powers to deal more effectively with the printing press for the maintenance of law and order and the preservation of peace and communal harmony among the people living in the State of Assam, in the manner hereinafter appearing;
It is hereby enacted in the Eleventh Year of the Republic of India as follows:—
