            "content": "Whereas it is expedient further to amend the Assam Municipal Act, 1956, hereinafter referred to as the principal Act, in the manner hereinafter appearing;\nIt is hereby enacted in the Forty-sixth Year of the Republic of India as follows:-",

            "content": "In the principal Act, in section 11, in sub-section (3), after existing clause (d), the following new sub-clauses shall be inserted, namely:-\n\"(e) seats reserved for scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes under sub-clause (d) shall be determined by the State Government by order published in the Official Gazette:\nProvided that such seats reserved for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes may be allotted by rotation to different constituencies in such manner as the State Government may, by order published in the Official Gazette, direct.",

            "content": "(f) The number of seats reserved for women belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes from amongst the seats reserved for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes under first proviso to sub-clause (d) shall be determined by the State Government by order published in the Official Gazette :\nProvided that such seats reserved for women belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes may be allotted by rotation to different constituencies in such manner as the State Government may, by order published in the Official Gazette, direct.",

            "content": "In the principal Act, in section 26, after sub-section (1), the following shall be inserted as sub-section (2) and in section the existing sub-sections (2) (3) and (4) shall be renumbered as sub-sections (3), (4) and (5) respectively :-\r\n\"26 (2) The State Election Commission shall cause the results of the general election to be published in the Official Gazette and the date of Official Gazette containing the publication shall be deemed to be the date of completion of the general election.\"",
