            "content": "An\nAct\nfurther to amend the Assam Fixation of Ceiling on Land\nHoldings Act, 1956.\nWhereas it is expedient further to\namend the Assam Fixation of Ceiling on\nLand Holdings Act, 1956 here-in-after\ncalled the principal Act in the manner\nhere-in-after appearing;\nIt is hereby enacted in the Thirty-\nSeventh Year of the Republic of India as\nfollows:-",

            "content": "(a) for sub-section (6), the following shall\nbe substituted, namely:-\n\"(6) without prejudice to any action\nunder any other provision of this Act, the\nState Government may of its own motion,\nwithin a period of 1 (one) year or on\napplicatior if filed within 90 days from\nthe date of publication of the final state-\nment under sub-section (4) or from the\ndate on which the Assam Fixation of\nCeiling on Land Holdings (Amendment)\nAct, 1986 shall come into force, whichever\nis later, call for any record relating to any\nfinal statement and may pass such order\nor orders as it deems fit after giving the\nperson or persons concerned an oppor-\ntunity of being heard.\"",

            "content": "(b) After sub-section (6) so substituted,\nthe following shall be inserted as sub-\nsection (6a), namely:-\n\"(6a) without prejudice to any action\nunder any other provision of this Act,\nthe State Government on its own motion,\nfor ends of justice and/or for exceptional\ncircumstances to be recorded in writing,\nmay review of any order passed earlier\nand may call for any records relating to\nany final statement within a period of\n3 years and pass such order or orders as\nit deems fit, after giving the person or\npersons concerned an opportunity of\nbeing heard.\"",

(1) The Assam Fixation of Ceiling on\nLand Holdings (Amendment) Act, 1984 is\nhereby repealed.\n(2) Notwithstanding such repeal, any\naction taken, decision given, order made,\nanything done or any proceedings com-\nmenced under the provisions of the Act so\nrepealed and in force immediately before\nsuch repeal shall continue in force and\nshall be deemed to have been given, done,\ntaken or commenced under the correspon-\nding provisions of this Act.",
