            "content": " (1) This Act may be called the Assam Finance\r\nAct, 1967.\r\n(2) It extends to the whole of the State of .\r\nAssam.\r\n(3) It shall be deemed to have come into force\r\nwith effect from 1st April. 1967.",

            "title": "Section 2: Rate of Agriculture Income Tax",

            "content": "2)The rates of Agricultural Income-tax for the year beginning on ,the 1st April, 1967, shall, for he purposes of sections 3 and 6 of the Assam Agricultural\r\nIncome-tax Act. 1939. be the rates given belowA. In the case of every Hindu undivided or joint family-\r\n(a) At the rate applicable, under the list of\r\nrates contained in paragraph B below to a\r\nsum equal to the share of a brother if such\r\nshare exceeds Rs.6.000 ;\r\n(b) At two paise in the rupee, if the share of\r\na brother is Rs.6,OOO or less.\r\nB. In the case of every individual, Firm and other Association of\r\npersons (tither than cornpanies)-\r\nRate\r\n(a ) On the first Rs.l.500 of total income\r\n(b) On the next Rs.3,SOO of total income\r\n(c) On the next Rs:2,500 of total income\r\n(d) On the next Rs.2,500 of total income\r\n(e) On the next Rs.2.500 of to tal m com e\r\n(f) On the next Rs.2 ,500 of total income\r\n(g) On the next Rs.5 ;000 of total)ncome\r\nNil.\r\nFour paise in the\r\nrupee.\r\nEight paise in'the\r\nrupee.\r\nTwelve paise in\r\nthe rupee.\r\nFifteen paise lD\r\nthe rupee.\r\nNineteen paise in\r\nthe rupee.\r\nTwe n t y-s eve n\r\npaise in the\r\nrupee.\r\ns\r\nRate\r\n(h) O n the next Rs.30.000 of total income T i r t Y-5 eve n\r\npaise in the\r\nrupee.\r\n(i) On the next Rs.50,000 of total income\r\n(j) On th e next Rs.l ,00,000 of to tal incom e\r\n(k) O n the balance of total income\r\nC. In the case of every CompanyForty-five paise jJl\r\nthe rupee.\r\nFifty-seven paise in\r\nthe rupee.\r\nSixty paise in .tbe r upee.\r\n( a) T he total income of which doe s not exceed\r\nRs.l ,OO ,OOO.\r\nO n the whole of total income\r\n(b) The total income\r\nRs.I,OO,OOO but\r\nRs.2,OO,OOO.\r\nof\r\ndoes\r\nwhich\r\nnot\r\nexceeds\r\nexceed\r\nForty-five paise in\r\nthe rupee.\r\nOn the whole of total income Fifty-seven paise\r\nin the rupee.\r\n(c) The total income of which exceeds Rs.2,OO,OOO\r\nOn the whole of total i ncom e\r\nProvided always tha t,-\r\nSixty paise in the\r\nrupee.\r\n(i) no Agricult ural Income-tax shall be payable on a total Agricul - tu ral Income which does not exceed Rs.3,OOO ;\r\n(ii) in respect of parag-raph s A and E, the Agricultural Income-tax\r\npayable shall not exceed h alf the amount by which the total\r\nAgricultural Income exceeds Rs.3,OOO; and\r\n(iii) in respect of paragraph C, the Agricultural Income-tax payable\r\nshall not exceed the difference between the total Agricultural\r\nincome and the followin limits :-\r\n(a) Rupees fifty-five thousand increased by One per cent of the excess\r\nof the total Agricultural Income over Rs.l,OO,OOO in the case\r\nof every Company the total Agricultural Income of which\r\nexceeds Rs.I,OO,OOO but docs not exceed Rs.2 ,OO,OOO ;\r\n(b) Rupees eighty-six th ousand increased by two and half per cent\r\nof the excess of the total Agricultural Income over Rs.2,OO,OOO\r\nin the case of every Company the total Agricultural Income\r\nof which exceeds Rs.2,OO,OOO.",
