"content": "(a) \"Medical Service Institutions\" means and includes all such Healthcare Institutions providing patient care under the control of State or Central Government or Autonomous bodies or local bodies or private healthcare institution like Corporate hospitals, private hospitals, private nursing homes, clinics, residential facilities of medical service personnel or any other institution by whatever name called providing healthcare services to the patient;",

"content": "(b) \"Medical Service Personnel\" in relation to a medical service institution shall include,-\n(i) Registered Medical Practitioners, practicing modern medicine or AYUSH;\n(ii) Registered Nurses;\n(iii) Medical Students;\n(iv) Nursing Students;\n(v) Para-medical workers, Diagnostic Services Providers, Pharmacists and;\n(vi) Any other healthcare provider or any person employed and working in such Medical Service Institution for providing or helping in patient care services including administrative staff and security guards within the premises of medical service institution or residential areas of medical service personnel;",

"content": "Penalty: Any person who commits any act of violence or is an accomplice or abettor to such violence or causes damage or loss to any property in medical service institution, shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to three years and with fine which may extend to rupees fifty thousand.",
