Definitions.", "chapter": null, "content": "(a) \"Act\" means the Haryana Municipal Act, 1973 (24 of 1973);\n(b) \"Animal Welfare Organization\" means and includes the Society for prevention of cruelty to animals and any other welfare organization for animals which is registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 (21 of 1860), or any other corresponding law for the time being in force and which is recognized by the Animal Welfare Board of India, constituted under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960 (59 of 1960);\n(c) \"Court\" means the civil Court having jurisdiction over the area;\n(d) \"dog\" means a dog and includes a bitch;\n(e) \"form\" means a form appended to these bye-laws;\n(f) \"licensing authority\" means the Executive Officer/Secretary of a Committee as the case may be;\n(g) \"owner\" means the owner of a dog and includes any other person in possession or custody of such dog whether with or without the consent of the owner;\n(h) \"veterinary doctor\" means a person who holds a degree of a recognized veterinary college and is registered with the Indian Veterinary Council [Haryana Veterinary Council]", "footnote": "", "is_definition": true, "sort_order": 1 }, { "number": "3", "title": "3. Registration of dogs.", "chapter": null, "content": "(ii) The fee for such registration per dog shall be as under :-\n(a)\nfor the original registration or for renewal of a\n\t\t\tregistration, if an application for renewal accompanied by fee\n\t\t\tis made after one month of the expiry of the period of\n\t\t\tregistration\n:\nRs. 500/-\n(b)\nfor renewal of registration, if an application for renewal\n\t\t\taccompanied by fee is made within one month of the expiry of the\n\t\t\tperiod of registration\n:\nRs. 250/-\n(b) It shall be the duty of the owner of the dog who has been suffering from or is suspected of rabies to report the matter without delay to the licensing authority.\n(c) The licensing authority may, after reasonable notice, require the owner or person incharge of a dog suffering or reasonably suspected to be suffering from rabies to deliver the same to any specified official of the committee. The licensing authority may either cause the animal to be destroyed forthwith or send it to the veterinary hospital, for observation for a period of not more than fourteen days.
